I searched my area for a yoga studio where I could further my practice and surround myself with people who’s interest in the practice focused on more than just getting a nice body. It took me awhile to get used to their hot yoga classes, but I love going and the teachers are great. They have two locations, though I have only been to the one in Uptown.

Chiropractic | Acupuncture | Physiotherapy
5072 West Plano parkway, Suite 130, Plano, TX 75093 | 972-267-3330
I found Dr. Jacobs though a good friend of mine when I developed tendonitis in both shoulders. The pain was so great I couldn’t raise my cell phone to my ear, let alone massage anyone. The acupuncture took away the pain so that I was able to continue going to school without pain medication. It also helped heal my arms. On top of that he corrected my lower back. I owe a great deal to this man and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an acupuncturist or chiropractor. He also has an office at Baylor Medical Center.

A student of Thich Nhat Hanh, Br. ChiSing travels across the Dallas area teaching meditation, spirituality, and the art of mindfulness. I have attended his workshops and believe they would be wonderful for anyone interested in the teachings of Buddhism and meditation. Check out his website for listings of where he will be throughout the week. You can also contact him at: ChiSing@InterMindful.com

I found their incense when I was on Colorado and continue to order it from their website. It smells incredible and I’ve noticed a great difference between their product and the others I’ve tried. Right now I mostly order their frankincense and myrrh.

These oils are amazing. They are 100% Pure Essential, and I mostly use them for my own personal use. I use some on my clients, but stopped putting them in my oil when I realized they were affecting me as much as the client. I met the woman who makes them and she has love in her eyes.

Run by Melanie Wisnieski and her husband, they both create meals for you to store in your refrigerator and cater parties. She is an amazing personal chef and has taught me how to cook several vegetarian dishes and kept me from a diet of only rice and beans. Thanks Melanie!! 214-226-8506

I have known this woman for several years and she is amazing. With a background in massage therapy and Reiki, she is now specializing in wholistic nutrition. While working in the supplement and herbal section at the Oaklawn Wholefoods she has been flying back and forth to New York to finish her degree and is almost finished. I am very excited for her and would recommend her to anyone who would like to create balance in their diet and their life. 214-207-2584 / askmisty@gmail.com

This is my dining room away from home. Since I became a vegetarian I eat more at this restaurant than any other in the Dallas area, and my friends will vouch for this. I love their food, I love their service, and I especially love eating out on the patio. Try the “Cosmic Stir” or “Spinach Enchiladas” and you’ll get hooked even if you are a devout carnivore.

I received most of my beginning and advanced training from this school. If anyone is looking to learn the art of massage therapy, they take the practice very seriously. It is family owned and run, and were very much a family to me during my training there.

Located at 4246 Oaklawn right next to Highland Park, it is my favorite Thai food restaurant in the area. Their Red Curry with Tofu is great and so are their spring roles. They also do take out. Check out their website for their menu. 214-219-0063

I purchased my Cannondale from Mauricio over a year an a half ago and it has become a big part of my life. Because I use it soften I take it in for an adjustment about every month. This man knows his bikes and if you are ever thinking about purchasing a new one, or fixing up your old one, he’s the man! Unfortunatly, due to the rising cost of realistate in myneighborhood they were forced to leave Oaklawn, much like many other busnesses that were a great contributor to my community. But he also has locactions in Arlington, and Grand Prairie: 214-520-1430

This is one of many changes I’ve made to help reduce the harm I cause my planet. I switched to Green Mountain energy two years ago. Their electricity is cleaner electricity, made from sources like wind, water, solar, biomass, geothermal and natural gas. All power plants, including those providing cleaner Green Mountain Energy electricity, feed electricity into regional distribution grids. From there, it flows to your home through poles and wires. Not only is the energy renewable, but it also greatly reduces the amount of carbon dioxide pollution we ultimately cause by using fossil fuels. The more people that join, the more they can offset the companies that care more about your money than what they do to earn it. |
